This afternoon, I returned to Corpus Christi for the Queen of Angels Youth & Children Group. We made rosaries today.....
The snacks look good!!!!
I taught the children the 3 attributes of the Catholic Church:
Authority: The mother church of the diocese is the "Cathedral". The word "cathedral" came from the word "cathedra". It is a Greek word means "a seat of authority". It is the seat of the Bishop. When a new Bishop is installed he is usually led by the Papal Nuncio or Apostolic Delegate to the throne. The authority of the Bishop ties up with the authority of the Pope.
Infallibility: The Pope's decisions are infallible when all of the 4 conditions are fulfilled:
1. The Pope must speak as Vicar of Christ.
2. He must show clearly that he is speaking infallibly; he does this when he uses such phrases as we define or we proclaim.
3. He must be treating of matters of faith or morals.
4. He must make it plain that he intends to bind the whole Church.
"Have confidence, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33)
"the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:19)
"I am with you all days, even unto the consummation of the world" (Mat. 28:20)
"You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses for me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and even to the very ends of the earth" (Acts 1:7)
Although there have been many persecutions against the Church, the Church is still standing today, and it will stand until the end of time.
At the end of the meeting, I blessed the rosaries and we prayed a decade together. I also touched each rosary with a 1st class relic.
