Theresa the Little Flower

Today is the 111th Anniversary of the death of St. Theresa. I shared her story & pictures with the school students @ St. Pats.

Theresa was born on January 2nd, 1874...

Her mother died when she was only 4...

Theresa was a sensitive, touchy little girl.....

She missed her 2 older sisters, who became nuns...

At 10, she got very sick, but Our Lady smiled at her & cured her...

At 14 on Christmas, Theresa experienced the grace to control her emotions & to grow in maturity.

She prayed for the conversion of a condemned criminal. He died showing sign of repentant...

Theresa would like to become a nun immediately, but the rule of the time was that you need to be at least 16 to be a nun...

Finally, Theresa was allow to become a nun at 15...

Theresa did many simple tasks in the convent. But she did them with great love & patience...

Theresa & her sisters were nuns in the same community...

Theresa was sick & died at the age of 24 on September 30th, 1897....

St. Theresa is now busy in Heaven showering down roses & praying for us....

An important lesson we learn from her life is: To be holy, we do not need to do extraordinary things. We need to do ordinary simple things with pure intention, great love, & great patience.
