This evening I started teaching @ PREP. I first taught the grade 7 Confirmation class. I taught them the Mysteries of the Holy Trinity, the Incarnation, & Redemption.
To understand the Mysteries of the Trinity & Incarnation, we should know the meanings of the words "Nature" & "Person".
A NATURE is WHAT someone or something is.
A PERSON is WHO someone is.
In God there is one NATURE, and there are three PERSONS.
PERSONS: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT
The main theme in the Old Testament (46 Books) is that God is One.
The main theme in the New Testament (27 Books) is that God is Three.
God is Love. There are loving relationships within One God, the result of relationships is the distinctions of Persons.
God created us to share His love with us. Human beings rejected the love of God. Hence, we need to be saved.
God the Son became Man. Jesus is one PERSON with two NATURES.
The two NATURES of Jesus Christ are God & Man.
The Name "Jesus" means "Savior". The Second Person of God became Man to save us mainly from sin & death.
Jesus accomplished our Salvation through the Paschal Mystery. When He died on Good Friday, He overcame sin for us. When He rose on Easter Sunday, He overcome death for us. Now death is no longer eternal. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we too will be raised on the last day.
I invited the Grade 7 to see the pictures of Volume 1 & 2 of my "pop-up" books on-line, in order to understand these Mysteries more....

1ST COMMUNION CLASS:
For the 1st Communion classes, I talked about Creation......
God is Trinity: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. We make the Sign of the Cross when we pray.
Only God the Creator can make things out of NOTHING.
I talked about the 6 Days of Creation using Volume One of the "pop-up" book.
Man & Angels are special because we are created for God. Other things on earth are created to serve us. And we are created to serve God.
Who made us? GOD.
Why God made us? Because He love us. He created us for Heaven.
How can we get to Heaven? By knowing God, loving God, & serving God.
God gave each of us a Guardian Angel.
Angel of God, my Guardian Dear.
To whom His love commits me here.
Ever this day, be at my side,
to light and guard,
to rule and guide.
