Pilgrimage to Mission

P1030149

Yesterday (Oct. 13) was Canadian Thanksgiving Day. It was  also the Anniversary of the last Apparition of Our Lady in Fatima. I led the members from my 3 private prayer groups on pilgrimage to Mission, BC. It was a "wet" rainy day.

There were over 90 of us, and we used 2 buses. One bus was for Cantonese speaking members, the other one for English speakers. Many of them attended the 8:15 morning Mass @ St. Pats, and we left St. Pats @ around 9:15 AM.

After that, we went down to the Oblates Cemetery. More then 200 priests & religious were buried there. Because this cemetery is located in an isolated location, vandalism is a serious issue. Many of the older tombs were damaged. We prayed for the dead & I sprinkled Holy Water over the graves as a sign of respect for the bodies that were the temples of the Holy Spirit...

We arrived St. Joseph Parish @ around 4:15 PM. It was the parish that I taught PREP for 5 years as a seminarian. There is a little grotto there, and I gave the group the Blessing of Mary Help of Christians there...

After a day of "wet" & prayerful journey, we returned to St. Pats @ around 6pm. I have uploaded the pictures from yesterday to the Prayer Groups Photo Album. You can also find a link on the left side of this blog. Below are the 2 posts that have the talks on monastic life I gave while we were on the bus. You can also download the talks on the MP3 talk session of my prayer groups web-site.
